About Us

The Little Tots Sunshine Childcare is licensed by Illinois Department of Child and Family Services. In 2009, we were awarded The Quality Count "Quality Rating System Star Level #1" Award. In 2011, we were awarded The Quality Count "Quality Rating System Star Level #3" Award. In 2011, we were awarded NAFCC Accreditation.

The Quality Rating System (QRS) is a program sponsored by the Illinois Department of Human Service. QRS recognizes childcare programs that go above and beyond the licensing standards to offer a high quality learning experience. QRS is a voluntary program that acknowledges childcare programs that meet specific quality indicators and quality practices. My childcare program received this award based on our quality learning environment and our commitment to providing a stimulating learning experience.

NAFCC defines accreditation as follows:
"Accreditation is a process many different industries use to indentify exemplary practices in that particular field. Accreditation is both a status and a process. As a status, accreditation provides public notification that an institution or program meets standards of quality set forth by an accrediting agency. As a process, accreditation reflects the fact that in achieving recognition by the accrediting agency, the institution or program is committed to self-study and external review by one's peers in seeking not only to meet standards but to continuously seek ways in which to enhance the quality of the services provided."

The Little Tots Sunshine Childcare is an all inclusive, child care. Yvonne Williams founded Little Tots with her driving passion to provide excellent child care to all children in the suburban setting.

The Little Tots Sunshine Childcare provides excellent staff to care for all children under the age of 6. Little Tots offers Full Time and Part Time Care, as well as Occasional Care. Little Tots is able and proud to provide home-cooked, healthy meals and snacks for children daily. Our staff provides the very best to each and every child. We take pride in our reputation. We complete a thorough background check on each employee considered and hired. Every employee employed by Little Tots is certified in both CPR and First Aid. We believe in safety and take every precaution to assure that each child is cared for to the greatest extent.

The Little Tots Sunshine Childcare has a custom made curriculum that focuses on learning through play and promoting language and motor development, reading and writing skills, stimulate sensory and social interaction, which help prepare children for school. Our curriculum encompasses alphabet exercises daily, learning centers, and free play. Our curriculum fosters a success in student focus, creativity, curiosity, problem solving, and knowledge. We are proud of the commitment and services offered to parents and children.

Miss Yvonne Williams
Miss Yvonne earned her undergraduate degree in computer science from Illinois State University. In addition she earned a Masters of Science in Information Systems from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL. Yvonne has recently earned her Masters of Education in Early Childhood Administration from National Louis University. Currently, Miss Yvonne is completing her Illinois Director Credential and leading her program through the NAFCC accreditation process.

Miss Yvonne's focus and drive to succeed are the other driving forces behind the success of The Little Tots Sunshine Childcare.

Prior to operating a family childcare, Miss Yvonne owned and operated a successful children's resale shop for 5 years. Miss Yvonne brings many years of personal and business experience to the childcare center. Miss Yvonne is a loving mother of two beautiful girls ages 12 and 10.

Miss Nicole
Miss Nicole earned her degree in communication from Northern Illinois University. She is a wife and the mother of a very active 5 year old boy. Miss Nicole has been working with children for over 5 years. Miss Nicole enjoys working with children and looks forward to showing kids that learning is fun.

Miss Jenny
Miss Jenny is currently earning her degree in Early Childhood Education. She has worked with children for many years in the Homewood Flossmoor school district where she worked as a teacher assistant. Miss Jenny love for children is displayed through her commitment to learning and leading the youth in her church.
